About the Project

Homa Bay is located along the southern shore of Lake Victoria’s Winam Gulf. The county covers 3,183.3 sq km with a population of about 963,794 people. It is located about 420 km West of Nairobi and 105 km South of Kisumu City. With the success of TREES' Homa Bay 1 project, Trees for the Future was able to begin a second project with farmers who heard about the Forest Garden Approach from their neighbors.

Gedion holds a BSC in Agronomy, a diploma in Microfinance, and has over 10 years experience in extension and team management. He previously worked as an extension officer and team leader for VI Agroforestry and Green Forest.
