About the Project

Homa Bay is located along the South shore of Lake Victoria’s Winam Gulf. The county covers an area of 3,183.3 sq. kilometers with a population of about 963,794 people. It is located about 420 kilometers West of Nairobi and 105 km south of Kisumu City. With the success of TREES' first two Homa Bay projects, Trees for the Future was able to begin a third project with farmers who heard about the FGA through their neighbors and farmers groups.
