Gabe Buttram

Gabe Buttram has always had a passion for nature, travel, and new experiences. This led him to join the Peace Corps, where he first developed an interest in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry and community development. Gabe holds a Master’s degree from American University in International Affairs, and a second Master’s from the UN University for Peace in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development. He has spent the last fifteen years working in agroforestry and livelihoods, where his main focus has been on curriculum and resource development, training, and program management, working across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Gabe began his professional career with Trees for the Future and was initially involved in the development of the Forest Garden Program. After several years away, he is very happy to be back with TREES as Technical Director.
