Andrew Hicks is the Vice President of Programs at TREES, where he leads farmer-centered agroforestry to improve food security, incomes, and biodiversity across Sub-Saharan Africa—combining his passions for serving farmers and restoring ecosystems. Previously, he led global programs at Terraformation and program strategy at Digital Green. He also served with One Acre Fund in Tanzania, co-managing a 400-person team that supported tens of thousands of farmers. Andrew began his international career as a Peace Corps Agriculture Volunteer in northern Tanzania and earlier worked as a product engineer. Andrew lived in Tanzania for about six years and has contributed to agricultural and land restoration initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa, South & Southeast Asia, and Latin America. He holds an M.Ag. in International Agriculture and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Outside of work, he enjoys birding, gardening, cooking, and running.
