Katleen Verhelle is the Kenya Country Director at Trees for the Future, based in Kisumu and originally from Antwerp, Belgium. In this role, Katleen aims to create the conditions for the Kenya team and the farmers they work with to thrive, so the program can deliver strong, lasting results. With a Master’s in Business and a minor in Engineering, Katleen started out in the energy sector and has since worked across private companies and NGOs in Europe and in farmer-focused, regenerative agriculture projects.
She loves roles where she can sit between strategy and day-to-day operations, work closely with local teams, and turn complex setups into something practical for farmers while also contributing to meaningful climate action on the ground. Outside of work, she spends most of her time traveling, enjoying live music, discovering good food & drinks, and fitting in some sport here and there like yoga.
