Tahirou Bouaré

Tahirou Bouaré joined Trees for the Future in 2020 and became Country Director of our Mali projects in 2021. He leads efforts to promote and develop Forest Garden systems with smallholder farmers across Mali.

Tahirou holds an engineering degree in Agronomy and Rural Development from the IPR/IFRA of Katibougou (Mali), a Master’s in Project and Organization Management from TechnoLAB-ISTA (Mali), and an MBA in Project, Innovation, and Technology Management from ESG Paris.

With extensive experience in decentralized financial systems and NGOs, Tahirou has supported sustainable rural development and agricultural enterprises throughout Mali. Before joining TREES, he held technical roles in projects funded by the World Bank, the Aga Khan Foundation, and Danida, focusing on agricultural finance, competitiveness, and value chain development.

In his free time, Tahirou enjoys walking, exploring nature, watching football, and science documentaries.
