Vincent Mainga, a Kenyan national, is the Country Director for the Kenya Country Program at Trees for the Future, where he has served since August 2022. He leads the Lake Victoria Watershed Agroforestry Project, currently working with 17,000 farmers and aiming to engage 85,000 farmers to restore around 75,000 hectares.
With over 20 years of experience in agroforestry, forestry, carbon markets, climate change, and community development, Vincent has worked for organizations like the Kenya Water Towers Agency, WWF, KEPHIS, NMK, UNEP, and ICRAF. He specializes in agroforestry solutions, restoration programs, and nature-based solutions, currently managing a team of 150 staff. Additionally, he participates in national restoration committees and has contributed to strategic restoration documents.
